The term cablegram refers to a telegram message sent overseas via the
International Submarine Cable.

What is a telegram?
A:
A telegram is a priority message sent via electronic transmission directly
to the nearest telegraph office in the destination country. Domestic
telegrams are sent via overnight delivery and receive top priority.

How fast will the person receive my telegram?

Your telegram arrives in the destination office within one hour. At that
point, the telegram still needs to be officially stamped then routed and
delivered. ISC Cablegram cannot guarantee a time of delivery, but finds
that it usually gets to your party within 24-48 hours. (Please keep in mind
the different time zones).

What is included in the word count?
A:
A telegram's word count is based on number of characters. One word is
anything between 1 and 10 characters in length. If you have a word that
is 11 characters in length, it counts as two words. Every word on your
telegram is counted, including the recipient's name, address and however
you choose to sign the message at 99 cents. Punctuation does not count.
